Winter Concert

Perkins Middle School

The Music Department will be having the Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 6:30 PM in the Big Gymnasium at Perkins Middle School. This letter is to give you, the parent of guardian, information you need to help your music student receive the best concert grade possible!

Report time
Band to Room 20 to get instruments/music, then report to Big Gymnasium at 5:30 pm

Concert Dress
Band - Dress like you would wear to a wedding. Absolutely NO denim on any article of clothing or any athletic shoes! (BONUS for wearing RED or GREEN)

Attendance
ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. The concert counts as 2000 points! All absences must be excused according to the Band and Orchestra Handbooks, and cleared with the director prior to the performance. Only an emergency situation will be excused. It must be in writing and signed by a parent, or in a medical situation, a doctor. The director will decide how the student will make up the grade.

General Information
All school and class rules apply at the concert. If your student has to be removed from the concert due to behavior, the grade will be lowered SIGNIFICANTLY. All students are expected to stay for the complete concert as a matter of concert etiquette. This is part of the Music Standards. All Band students are expected to have their instrument in good working order. All students are expected to use the restroom BEFORE the concert starts.
